INTERN / TRAINEE ELIGIBILITY

There are two types of internship programs available, based on each intern’s status and situation. Basic requirements for internships applicants are slightly different for each program.

J-1 INTERN ELIGIBILITY

• Completion of at least four semesters of university work (two semesters of community college).

• Graduation from university no more than twelve months prior to the start date of your internship.

• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English (an in-person interview using video conferencing and a Web camera will be conducted).

• You must have a TOEFL score of 600 or higher on the written test or a 250 or higher on the computer-based test (TOEIC score of 800 or higher).

• Applicants must demonstrate they have sufficient finances to support their stay while in the United States.

J-1 TRAINEE ELIGIBILITY

 

• A degree or professional certification from a foreign post secondary academic institution and at least one year of prior related work experience in the applicant’s occupational field.

• Five years of work experience outside the United States in applicant’s occupational field.

• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English (an in-person interview using video conferencing and a Web camera will be conducted).

• You must have a TOEFL score of 600 or higher on the written test or a 250 or higher on the computer-based test (TOEIC score of 800 or higher).

• Applicants must demonstrate they have sufficient finances to support their stay while in the United States.
